Kirghizstan, the only country in the world that owns both an American and a Russian base in its territory, made a decision to shut down the USA owned Manas Military Base. The statement made by the Kirghizstan President Kurmanbek Bakiyev on the evening of February 3, considered as an “unexpected” development, although the shutdown of the American base is expected for a long time.
